In June of 2019 the Art Foundation of Santa Barbara hosted its Annual Art Exhibit of historical artwork from the collections of the Santa Barbara Club Members; art with historical value, contemporary pieces, and personal pieces. Local Art Conservator and Restorer Scott Haskins conducted a presentation about his work resorting art across the world and his history in the Santa Barbara Community.
Scott Haskins is a world-renowned art conservator, restorer, artist, and author. He works on projects in his Santa Barbara laboratory and around the world. He worked with conservators, technicians & specialist to prepare the mural “Portrait of Mexico Today” by David Alfaro Siqueiros for the move from Los Angeles to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in 2002.  Haskins also helped perform the conservation work once it was installed at its site to the right of the museum entrance. Adding Author to his description, Mr. Haskin’s has taken the time to write, “How to Save Your Stuff From a Disaster”, a soft cover, self-published book particularly relevant in Santa Barbara with its propensity for earthquakes and brush fires.
